Garcinia quaesita Family : Clusiaceae Garcinia quaesita, known as Goraka (Sinhala) and Kodukkaippuli (Tamil) is belongs to spice family of Clusiaceae which use as a dietary supplement for weight loss ,appetite controller and detox in world wide cuisine . It also helps to reduce cholesterol and triglyceride. Garnicia protect the body against cancer and arteritis as well. Garnicia harvesting is done by picking the ripe fruits. The fruits should be handled carefully to prevent damage. After harvesting, seeds are removed and rinds are separated and dried under sunlight until it turns dark black. The same Goraka is used as a taste enhancer in traditional Sri Lankan Fish curry, Ambulthiyal ,Crab curry and work similar as an sour which place as lime and tamarind .
